Free Online 3D Design Tool (Tinkercad-Style)

Design a printable model right in your browser: drag in ready-made shapes, turn some into holes, group them, and export for your printer. The print tab checks overhangs and estimates weight, time and cost for your printer.

Best on a computer with a mouse. Right-drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.Open full screen ↗

How to use it

  1. 1Drag a shape from the library (box, cylinder, text, gear, threaded rod…) onto the workplane.
  2. 2Resize with the white handles, lift with the black cone and rotate with the coloured arcs, or type exact sizes in millimetres.
  3. 3Set any shape to Hole, select the shapes and press Group to cut the holes out of the solids.
  4. 4In the Print tab pick your printer and check for overhangs, then press Export for STL or 3MF, or open the design straight in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer.
Once exported, check the model fits your printer with Will it fit, and price the print with the print cost calculator.
Browse and publish community designs in the design gallery, run a class from the teacher dashboard, and build electronics with Arduino simulation in Circuits.

Free 3D design software that runs in your browser

The JOCAM 3D Designer is a free online CAD tool built for 3D printing. Like Tinkercad, you build models from ready-made shapes: drag a box, cylinder, sphere, text or part onto the workplane, turn some shapes into holes, and group them to cut and join. There is nothing to install and no account needed to start — it works on Windows, Mac, Chromebooks and tablets, and keeps working offline once it has loaded.

Everything is measured in real millimetres, and the workplane matches the bed of your printer, so what you design is exactly what comes off the printer.

Gears, bolts, hinges and other ready-made parts

The Generators section makes working mechanical parts that you can adjust with sliders:

  • Spur gears with any number of teeth and a real involute tooth shape. Set the module so gears mesh, and change the number of pin holes inside the gear, their size, the centre hole and a D-shaped motor-shaft flat.
  • Internal (ring) gears and gear racks with the same module, for planetary gearboxes and linear motion.
  • GT2 timing-belt pulleys, knobs for potentiometers, L-brackets with screw holes, snap-in cable clips and wall hooks.
  • Metric bolts and nuts with printable threads, print-in-place hinges, snap-fit hooks, living hinges, and electronics enclosures with a matching lid.

Made for 3D printing, not just for drawing

The Print tab picks your printer — Bambu Lab A1, A1 mini, P1S, P2S, X1C, H2D, Elegoo Centauri Carbon, Neptune 4 or a custom size — and checks the model: it marks overhangs in red, can turn the part to the flattest side, splits parts that are too big for the bed, and estimates grams of filament, print time and cost.

Export STL, OBJ, 3MF (with colours), GLB, SVG or DXF, or send the design straight to Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer. On a phone you can place the model on your desk at real size with augmented reality.

For schools, makers and teams

Teachers can create a class with a six-character join code, set assignments and review students’ work without the students needing an email address. Friends can design together in real time with a share link, and finished designs can be published to the community gallery or sold as paid downloads.

Pair it with the free Circuits simulator: design the electronics, then press “Case in 3D” to get an enclosure with holes for the USB port, LEDs and buttons.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a free Tinkercad alternative?

It works the same way: ready-made shapes, holes and grouping. There is no account to create, and your work autosaves in your browser. Use Save project to keep a file you can open again later.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

Designing, importing and exporting happen inside your browser. Your design only goes to our server when you save it to your account, share it, or use Open in Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer or the AR preview (the file is stored for a short time so the slicer or phone can download it).

How do I turn a logo into a 3D model?

Save the logo as an SVG and drop it on the workplane, or use the import button. It becomes a 5 mm thick shape you can resize, or set as a hole to engrave the logo into another part.

What units does it use?

Millimetres by default, or switch to centimetres or inches. The workplane matches your printer’s bed (Bambu Lab A1, P1S, X1C, H2D, Elegoo Centauri Carbon, Neptune, or a custom size), and exported files open in any slicer at the right size.

Can I make gears that mesh with each other?

Yes. Use the Spur gear, Internal gear and Gear rack parts with the same module (for example 1.5 mm). Two spur gears mesh when their centres are (teeth1 + teeth2) × module ÷ 2 apart.

Can I change the number of holes inside a gear?

Yes. Select the spur gear and move the Pin holes slider from 0 to 12. You can also set the pin-hole size, the centre hole and a D-shaft flat for motors such as the TT gear motor or a 28BYJ-48 stepper.

Does it work on an iPad or Android tablet?

Yes. It runs in Safari and Chrome with touch controls, and you can install it to your home screen as an app from the ⋯ menu.

Is it good for kids and students?

Yes. It uses the same shapes-and-holes approach as Tinkercad, has an Arabic interface, and includes classes so a teacher can follow each student’s design.
