3D Printing FAQ
Answers on prices, delivery, payment, warranty, materials and beginner questions from our team in Amman.
How much does a 3D printer cost in Jordan?
It depends on the type and brand. In our store, 3D printers range from around 250 JOD for entry-level FDM models to about 4,000 JOD for professional machines, and filament spools start at around 11 JOD. All prices are in Jordanian dinars — see the printers collection for current prices.

What is the difference between FDM and resin 3D printing?
FDM (Filament/FFF) printers melt plastic filament and build objects layer by layer — great for functional parts, large prints, and beginners. Resin printers cure liquid resin with UV light and produce ultra-fine details — ideal for jewelry, miniatures, and dental models. We carry both types from Bambu Lab, Creality, Elegoo, and Anycubic.
Which 3D printer is best for a complete beginner?
For FDM, the Bambu Lab A1 Mini or Creality Ender 3 V3 are top beginner picks — automatic bed leveling removes the biggest frustration point. For resin, the Elegoo Mars 5 is beginner-friendly with a smaller footprint. Visit our Amman showroom and we'll match you to the right machine based on your use case and budget.
How long does a 3D print take?
It depends on size, detail, and settings. A small keychain might take 30 minutes; a full helmet could take 20+ hours. Bambu Lab multi-axis printers are among the fastest on the market — the X1C can print 4–6× faster than standard printers. We can show you live demos in-store.
What materials can I print with?
FDM printers support filaments like PLA (easy, biodegradable), PETG (strong, food-safe), ABS (heat-resistant), TPU (flexible), and ASA (UV-resistant for outdoor use). Resin printers use standard, engineering, dental, and jewelry resins. We stock all major material types in-store.
What is PLA and why do most beginners start with it?
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is the most beginner-friendly filament — it prints at lower temperatures, sticks to the bed easily, rarely warps, and is biodegradable. It's perfect for prototypes, decorations, and household items. The trade-off is that it softens above ~60°C, so it's not ideal for parts exposed to heat.
Can I print flexible or rubber-like parts?
Yes — TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filament produces flexible, rubber-like prints. It's used for phone cases, shoe soles, gaskets, and grips. TPU requires a direct-drive extruder for best results; most Bambu Lab and Creality models we carry support it.
What is the maximum size I can print?
Build volume varies by printer. Entry models like the Elegoo Mars 5 offer around 150×150×170mm. Mid-range FDM printers offer 220×220×250mm. Large-format machines like the Creality K2 Plus provide 350×350×350mm. We'll help you pick based on what you plan to print.
How accurate is 3D printing?
Consumer FDM printers typically achieve ±0.1–0.2mm accuracy, which is sufficient for most parts and prototypes. Resin printers are far more precise — down to 0.05mm or less — making them ideal for detailed miniatures, dental models, and jewelry casting. Industrial machines achieve even tighter tolerances.
Why do my prints keep failing or not sticking to the bed?
The most common causes are: (1) unlevel bed — always re-level before printing; (2) incorrect Z-offset — the nozzle should slightly squish the first layer; (3) dirty bed — wipe with isopropyl alcohol before each print; (4) wrong temperature — each filament has an optimal range. Our team can remotely diagnose most issues via WhatsApp.
Do I need to calibrate my printer regularly?
FDM printers benefit from bed leveling checks every few prints or when you move the machine. Bambu Lab printers auto-calibrate before each print, which is one reason they're so popular with beginners. Resin printers need calibration when you change resin brands or when room temperature shifts by more than 5°C.
What is multi-color or multi-material printing?
Multi-material systems (like Bambu Lab's AMS) let you print with up to 4–16 colors or materials in a single print — no manual swapping required. It's great for logos, figures, and functional parts that need different properties in different areas. We stock the full Bambu Lab AMS lineup and can show you how it works in-store.
Is resin 3D printing safe to do at home?
Resin requires more care than FDM. Always print in a ventilated space, wear nitrile gloves and eye protection, and keep resin away from children and pets. Uncured resin is toxic — only dispose of it after UV curing. We provide safety guidance with every resin purchase and stock wash & cure stations to make the process safer and easier.
What software do I need to start 3D printing?
You need a slicer — software that converts a 3D model (STL/3MF file) into printer instructions (G-code). Bambu Lab printers use Bambu Studio (free, beginner-friendly). Creality printers use Creality Print or Cura. For resin, Chitubox or Lychee Slicer are the standards. All are free to download and we'll help you set them up.
Where do I find 3D models to print?
The most popular free model libraries are Printables (by Prusa), Thingiverse, and Makerworld (by Bambu Lab). You can also design your own using free tools like Tinkercad (beginner) or Fusion 360 (advanced). If you need a custom part made, contact us — we can recommend local design services.
How much does filament cost and how far does it go?
A standard 1kg spool of PLA filament starts from around 15 JOD and typically prints 300–500 small objects, or several medium-sized prints. Premium brands like Bambu Lab filament are optimized for their printers and produce fewer jams and failures, which saves material in the long run. We stock Bambu Lab and Elegoo filament.
What is the difference between standard and engineering resin?
Standard resin is affordable and great for display models, miniatures, and jewelry casting. Engineering resin is formulated for functional parts — it's tougher, more heat-resistant, and more impact-resistant. Dental resin is biocompatible and meets medical standards. We carry all three types and can advise which suits your application.
How often do I need to maintain my 3D printer?
FDM printers need regular bed cleaning (before each print), nozzle checks (monthly), lubrication of rails and lead screws (every 1–3 months), and occasional nozzle replacement. Resin printers need FEP/nFEP film replacement every 1–3 months depending on usage, plus regular vat cleaning. We sell all spare parts and consumables in-store.
Can 3D printing be used for a business or to make money?
Absolutely. Many of our customers run small businesses printing spare parts, custom products, architectural models, dental models, and more. 3D printing is used commercially in manufacturing, healthcare, construction, and fashion. We can advise on the right setup for a production workflow and offer volume pricing on consumables.
What is the Bambu Lab AMS and do I need it?
AMS (Automatic Material System) is Bambu Lab's multi-filament hub. It holds up to 4 spools and automatically switches colors or materials during a print. You don't need it for single-color printing, but if you want multi-color results or to switch materials without manual intervention, it's a game-changer. We stock AMS and AMS Lite at our Amman store.
Do you offer after-sales support and training?
Yes — our bilingual (Arabic/English) technical team supports you via WhatsApp and phone Saturday–Thursday, 9 AM–6 PM. We help with setup, calibration, slicing settings, and troubleshooting. For new customers, we offer in-store walkthroughs when you pick up your printer. Most common issues can be resolved remotely within minutes.
